The Three Pillars
The Shikari Pillar The Shikari is a pillar that focuses primarily on nutrition for the tribe. Acquiring different types of food via trapping, hunting, foraging, fishing, and more. Not only are they masters at catching their food, but they're also masters at keeping the food fresh as well as preparing it for consumption. Though any animal could eat raw meat and be fine with it, the Shikari go beyond the primitive ways, learning to cook, season, and prepare foods beyond comprehension. However, not all Shikari specialize in cooking, some specialize in trapping and hunting exclusively, selling their game to those who do cook. | The Praetorian Pillar The Praetorian is a pillar that focuses on the safety of the tribe and its' members. Prepared to throw themselves into battle to protect their tribemates at any time. They're trained to kill if need be, seeing a scarred member of the Praetorian pillar is not an uncommon sight. They specialize in both defense and offense, often being pit against one another, either in more gentle training spars or hardcore pit fights where blood is shed and sometimes even bodies drop. However, Praetorian life is not constant training with the threat of death around the corner. Some may choose to specialize specifically in battle, and others may specialize in dealing with home affairs. Keeping the peace between tribemates, enforcing the laws, and ensuring the tribeless keep their distance. | The Apothecary Pillar The Apothecary pillar is the healing team of the tribe, consisting of creatures that know their ways with plants and their medicinal properties. Using them to heal or to kill, a scary thought for those who do not trust the Apothecary. A feeling of security for those who do. Though the Apothecary pillar's main job is to heal the sick, wounded, and dying, they do more than that. If skillful enough, they can grow their own gardens of herbs, being able to supply themselves and others with the medicines and supplies they need. They also make the tribe paints, hanging certain flowers and plants to dry, before grinding them to a powder and making them into a type of dye or paint. |
Starting Out
---
Everyone starts out as an apprentice to the tribe's ranks. Not studying any specific pillar, but learning the basics of them all, allowing the individual to get a feel of what the position may be about in terms of expectations, knowledge, duties, and more. This allows players to get a feel for them, to get a better understanding of each available position before making a final choice.
How is everything taught?
Information about each pillar is fed through in-character interaction/role-play, teaching your character everything they need to know instead of sending them in blind and expecting them to know what the pillar is about and what to do.
What will I learn?
You will learn the basics of each pillar, this can be from daily duties, basic training sessions, and what is expected of you in that specific pillar. Allowing you to base your choice of position on which appeal to you the most.
